Messaging Channels (SMS, Email, Voice, WhatsApp)

Send SMS, email, AI voice calls, and WhatsApp from one platform.

  • What messaging channels does Respectly support?

Four channels: SMS, email, AI voice calls, and WhatsApp Business. SMS, email, and voice are available on all plans (with tier-gated limits). WhatsApp is Pro and Enterprise only. Each channel runs through the same compliance engine, the same templates, the same workflows, and the same analytics.

  • How do I send a one-off SMS or email?

Open the Send wizard from the top navigation. Type your message in plain English in the prompt box (or pick a saved template), select the contacts or list you want to send to, and Respectly's AI will draft optimized variants for each channel you enable. Review and edit each draft, accept it, then schedule or send immediately. The compliance engine checks every send before it leaves the platform.

  • Can I send broadcast messages to large lists?

Yes — the broadcast flow is built for it. You can target a tag, a pipeline stage, an entire contact list, or a saved segment. Maximum broadcast size depends on your plan: 10 SMS / 25 emails on Free, 100 SMS / 250 emails on Standard, and unlimited per broadcast on Pro and Enterprise. The system enforces compliance, calling-hour windows, and frequency caps automatically.

  • Do you support WhatsApp Business messaging?

Yes, on Pro and Enterprise only. Pro includes 500 WhatsApp messages per month; Enterprise is custom (unlimited available). WhatsApp uses approved message templates for outbound proactive messaging, per Meta's policies, and supports two-way reply handling in the unified inbox.

  • What is an AI voice call?

An AI voice call is a phone call placed by Respectly's voice AI (powered by UltraVox) that reads disclosures, captures verbal consent, or completes a short conversational task with the recipient. The AI sounds natural, handles interruptions and questions, supports 50+ languages, and produces a recording and full transcript that you can use as legal proof of consent. AI voice minutes are included starting on Pro (100 minutes/month).

  • How do I get a phone number for SMS and voice?

Free and Standard tiers use Respectly's shared phone pool — your messages go out from rotating numbers in our infrastructure. Pro includes 1 dedicated phone number and Enterprise includes 5+ dedicated numbers. Dedicated numbers are registered with carriers under 10DLC (in the US) so SMS deliverability is high and your business name appears in the sender ID.

Additional dedicated numbers can be added as an add-on at $15/month (Pro) or $12/month (Enterprise).

  • Can I send email from my own domain?

Yes, on Pro and Enterprise only. Connect your Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or any SMTP-capable provider (SendGrid, Mailgun, Amazon SES, SparkPost, etc.) in Settings. Once DKIM and SPF are configured for your domain, outbound emails will be sent from your domain and replies will land in your normal inbox. Free and Standard tiers send through Respectly's hosted email infrastructure.

  • How does two-way messaging work?

Inbound replies — SMS, WhatsApp, and email — all land in a unified inbox. Conversations are threaded by contact, can be assigned to a team member, and support quick replies, templates, and AI-suggested responses. Reply quotas are 100/month on Standard and unlimited on Pro and Enterprise. Free tier does not include two-way messaging.

  • Can I schedule messages for later?

Yes. Any send — one-off or broadcast — can be scheduled for a specific date and time. The system respects the recipient's local time zone and the calling-hour windows of their jurisdiction. Scheduled sends appear on the dashboard and can be edited or canceled until they fire. Scheduled sends are available starting on Standard.

  • Can I send recurring or sequenced messages?

Yes — message sequences are multi-step drips of 3 to 10 messages with configurable intervals; you can mix channels (SMS → email → voice, for example), and the sequence stops automatically if the recipient opts out or replies.
