Workflows, Sequences & Automation
Visual workflow builder, message sequences, and outbound webhooks.
What is the workflow builder?
The workflow builder is a visual, drag-and-drop automation tool that triggers actions when contacts or events meet conditions you define. Triggers include new contact created, pipeline stage change, form submission, document signed, message replied, scheduled time, and manual enrollment. Actions include sending SMS/email/voice/document, adding/removing tags, moving pipeline stages, updating custom fields, branching on conditions, waiting for a delay, and firing outbound webhooks.
Workflows respect contact consent automatically — if a contact opts out of SMS, every workflow that tries to send them SMS will skip that step.
What's a message sequence?
A message sequence is a multi-step drip of 3 to 10 messages sent over a configurable interval. Sequences can mix channels (for example: day 0 SMS, day 2 email, day 5 voice). The sequence stops immediately if the recipient opts out, replies (configurable), or meets a goal condition. Sequences are ideal for onboarding, nurture campaigns, appointment reminders, and post-purchase follow-up.
You can also have the AI draft an entire sequence from a prompt — it will produce the messages and suggest sensible intervals.
Can workflows call external systems?
Yes — the Webhook action sends an HTTP POST to any URL you configure when the action fires, with a signed payload describing the contact and the trigger event. This lets you push data into CRMs, ticketing systems, analytics platforms, or custom backends.
How are workflows different from sequences?
Sequences are linear drips: message 1, wait, message 2, wait, message 3. Workflows are branching graphs: triggers, conditional branches, multiple action types (not just sending), and parallel paths. A workflow can include a sequence as one of its steps. If you just need "send 3 emails over a week," use a sequence. If you need "when a form is submitted, tag the contact, move them to a pipeline stage, send a welcome SMS, wait 2 days, then branch based on whether they replied," use a workflow.
